What’s your choice?

The first couple of weekends saw us still getting ready for the year. Youth weekend we had a couple of our own kids working on the lease and sitting in stands, but the second weekend in November was our first official weekend of the season.

We had a new group scheduled to come up, but sadly a lot of them had to back out. And by the Wednesday night before, our contact was calling to apologize because it would only be him and his son coming. Luckily for us we had our kids reach out to their friends (and although it wasn’t a huge weekend in number) and we had a small group ready to go.

Bro. John brought a couple of the messages and as always he did really well. We got a couple of does out of the way for deer management purposes, and we luckily got a couple of bucks also.

Our weekends never really have a set theme on what we talk about, but this particular weekend we talked a lot about the choices we make. You see, there are a lot of paths to choose from in our every day lives. There are hundreds of different ways to get to a destination when travelling. But we need to be paying attention to the road we are on. The path we take and the choices we make in our every day lives is very important.

The Bible says in Matthew chapter 7

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

My hope for you today is that you take a look at where you are in life. Which road are you going down. Where is your path headed. I pray that you’ve chosen the road less travelled, but only you know.

So right now, just take a minute and evaluate your path, if you have found yourself on that wide road just going with the flow, it’s not too late to change directions.

In the book of Joshua, you find Joshua himself standing before a nation and laying it all out in chapter 24 verse 14 he tells the Israelites to choose whom they will serve. So today, I put the same plea before you that Joshua put out. Choose today whom you will serve, don’t falter between the two choices.

Love in Christ,

Briar Ridge

If you ever need to talk or ask for prayers we are always here. If you or someone you know needs to a weekend at camp we will do our best to fit them in. Just send us a message.
