Family of God!

Headed to the Stand

We just completed our first weekend of hunting, and we are so blessed by everyone who took part.  It was the first weekend that Michael and I didn’t get to be there the whole weekend, which made it different for us.  But we are so blessed to have a strong support system to call on when things come up.  We ended up having about 11 kids and a total of 26 overall for the weekend.  It was wonderful to be able to spend time with a new group and hopefully we will be able to have them back soon.

As far as hunting went this weekend, well we covered both ends of the spectrum.  Everyone was blessed to see deer in the field if they hunted the whole weekend, but sadly there were no kills.  I guess that’s why they call it hunting.  I’m pretty sure we all had a good time though, and wonderful messages were shared as well as a testimony from a local man.

Thinking of what I should blog about this weekend has been pressing on me, meeting new people and only getting to hear one of the messages definitely makes it harder to write about.  But, if I have to share one thing about this weekend that really impressed me, it was the Spirit of God.  Being a child of God is one of the best blessings any of us can ever have.  When you meet new people, and they don’t even feel like strangers, just unknown friends, well that’s definitely something to praise God for.  I thank God daily for letting me by his child, but I rarely think about the blessing it is to be in His Family.  You see it doesn’t matter where you are in this world, all of God’s children have a special bond.

I’ve been so blessed to go on mission trips outside of the United States, and I’ve found that no matter the language barriers, no matter the social differences, God’s children can come together and all those barriers just pass away.  In John 17:21-23, Jesus prays  “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.  And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:  I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”  Christ himself wanted us to be one, and I pray that every one of you has been able to experience the acceptance of the family of God.

If you haven’t yet chosen Christ as your Lord and Savior I urge you to now.  Christ laying down His life for us, and being raised from the dead on the 3rd day was the best gift ever.  But, salvation is where this gift begins.  Letting God lead and direct your life will take you places that you would never imagine.  The journey won’t always be easy, but it will definitely be worth it.

If you want us to pray for you, or with you please feel free to contact us.  And if you know anyone that may need to come to our ministry, or wants to join with our ministry we are always here for you.  We pray God’s blessings on each of you.

Love in Christ,

Briar Ridge
